English Programme Ages 10-11
This year-long reading programme helps children master the full range of grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills assessed in KS2 SATs. It ensures they can apply these accurately under exam conditions and in extended pieces of writing.
Children learn to:
Use active/passive voice, relative clauses, formal/informal language, and modal verbs.
Apply commas for clarity, colons, semi-colons, dashes, hyphens, and punctuation for direct/reported speech.
Secure knowledge of statutory high frequency spelling words, for 10 and 11 year olds prefixes/suffixes, homophones, and tricky words.
Write varied and complex sentences using subordination, cohesion, and accurate tense.
Proofread, spot errors, and complete SATs-style test questions.
Key Features of the Programme:
Coverage of all KS2 SATs-tested SPaG content in line with National Curriculum.
Exam-style practice questions and timed tasks integrated throughout.
Targeted spelling practice with statutory lists and rules.
Application in writing tasks to reinforce learning.
Assessment - check points at the end of each term
