Online English Tutor Programme Ages 7-9
This year-long reading programme helps children secure and extend their grammar, punctuation, and spelling knowledge so they can write more accurately and fluently. It supports their ability to construct complex sentences, edit their work, and prepare for upper KS2 writing and reading demands.
Children learn to:
Use expanded noun phrases, prepositions, conjunctions, and correct verb tenses.
Apply commas in lists, direct speech punctuation, and apostrophes for possession/contraction.
Build knowledge of prefixes, suffixes, homophones, and spelling rules (e.g. doubling, dropping e).
Vary sentence types (statements, questions, exclamations, commands) and combine ideas with subordination/coordination.
Proofread and improve spelling, punctuation, and grammar in their own writing.
Key Features of the Programme:
Progressive teaching of grammar and punctuation that encourages writing fluency
Systematic spelling coverage with word lists and spelling rules.
Opportunities to apply SPaG in short writing tasks
Assessment - check points at the end of each term
Parent Feedback - when your child takes part in the learning sessions
