Online Maths Tutor Programme Ages 5-7

This year-long maths programme will help children build strong number sense, problem-solving skills, and confidence in using maths in everyday situations. It lays the foundations for future learning by developing fluency, reasoning, and an understanding of key mathematical concepts.

Children learn to:

  • Count, read, and write numbers to 100; recognise one more/less; understand tens and ones.

  • Solve simple problems using objects, number lines and mental strategies.

  • Count in 2s, 3s, 5s, 10s, share and group small sets of objects.

  • Recognise halves, quarters and thirds, find fractions of amounts, measure length, weight, capacity, money, and time (to nearest 5 minutes).

  • Recognise and name 2D/3D shapes; describe position, direction, and simple movement.

Key Features of the Programme:

  • Practical learning with games and real-life contexts.

  • Pictorial–Abstract approach (using drawings → numbers/symbols).

  • Fluency practice (counting, number bonds, times table patterns).

  • Problem-solving and reasoning woven in, not just rote calculation.

  • Assessment - check points at the end of each term

  • Parent Feedback - when your child takes part in the learning sessions
