Onlinr English Tutor Programme Ages 5-7

This year-long reading programme helps children develop early spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills, giving them the foundations for confident writing and reading comprehension. It ensures they can apply key SPaG knowledge in sentences, preparing them for more developed writing skills.

Children learn to:

  • Use phonics to spell common words, including tricky words and high-frequency words.

  • Recognise nouns, verbs, adjectives, and basic sentence structures.

  • Use capital letters, full stops, question marks, and exclamation marks correctly.

  • Join ideas with simple conjunctions (e.g. and, but, because).

  • Form letters correctly and begin to use spaces between words.

Key Features of the Programme:

  • Phonics-linked spelling practice aligned with reading development.

  • Short, engaging activities to reinforce daily SPaG skills.

  • Practical writing tasks where children apply spelling, punctuation, and grammar in context.

  • Assessment - check points at the end of each term

  • Parent Feedback - when your child takes part in the learning sessions
